IIUM Montessori

The Montessori Method is a child-centered educational system that gives our children space to acquire independence and concentration in their learning process. Our classroom teaching and learning activities are carefully prepared environment to support our children learning with purposeful educational activities that focus on play activities and hands on approach. Through constant exposure to our specially design teaching and learning materials, laced with our teachers’ experiences, we strive to develop our children’s intelligence, social, emotional and physical growth. By our method, our children will acquire a natural love for work, develop orderliness, self-confidence, self-discipline and respect for others.

At the IIUM Montessori we offer an integration of Islamic approach to the Montessori Method where we blend Islamic values to the Montessori Method. It is our objective to instill the true concept of Imaan and Deen in accordance to the Al-Quran and Al- Sunnah. Our children are taught the importance of Islamic values in their everyday chores as a way of life and this is incorporated in every lesson. We strive to nurture our children aspects of excellent character building that embraced fine etiquette, sound intellect and holistic spiritual and physical development.

Our teachers are well trained by professional trainers. They are qualified, experienced and competent in early childhood education.

IIUM Montessori offers the following subjects: English Language and Bahasa Malaysia, Mathematics, Sensorial, Jawi, Islamic Studies, Arabic, Iqra’, Art & Craft, Everyday Practical Life (EPL) and Cultural education. We also offer co-curricular activities, such as Taekwondo and swimming classes.

Our school facilities, the classrooms, the library, the media room, the playground, the swimming pools (indoor) and compounds are well equipped and are safe for use. Each classroom can accommodate about 10-15 students to conduct a conducive quality teaching and learning environment.

Finally, our promotion of Islamic Montessori is aimed towards the balanced growth of total personality development of our children who can appreciate Allah’s gifts to the human race.
